Classic Muster Relay
There's nothing like sharing the burden, so the Coatesville Classic introduces the Classic Muster relay. Nail yourself together a team of two or four runners, and we'll drop you off at 2k intervals (team of four) or halfway (team of two) along the route. Teams can be any mix of men and women, boys and girls.

Walk back, or wait at your 2k, 4k or 6k changeover point for the official course vehicle to pick you up and drop you back at the finish.

The Classic Muster route is just the same as the No.8 Classic, so study the course map carefully. Don't let your mates con you into running Heartbreak Hill, when you thought you were jogging the Coatesville flats! You will only be issued with one timing chip, to be passed from team member to team member as the "baton". Special ankle bands will be provided for relay runners so that you can attach the chip on your ankle. The first runner and the last runner MUST have the chip on their ankle for us to capture your time.

You set off from outside the Coatesville Settlers' Hall, head along the gentle terrain of Mahoenui Valley Road to Heartbreak Hill, a short, sweet climb to the junction with Ridge Road.

Turn right and follow the rolling profile of Ridge Road with spectacular views over Mahoenui Valley to the right and out to Sky Tower on the left. When you reach Glenmore Road, hang a right.

Just when you think it's all downhill, Glenmore throws a few ups and downs at you, until you hit the real down slopes.

From there it's a piece of cake - down to the village and through the gate on the right into the reserve and Pony Club. Head along the tree-lined path and out onto the reserve and you've made it.

Supporting Coatesville
This year, $5 from every Classic Muster relay team entry will go to support improvements to Coatesville reserve.

ENTERING ON RACE DAY? LATE FEES WAIVED!
The rush to enter in the last couple of days at our Shoe Science registration table has convinced us to waive our race-day late fees - so come on down, join the crowd and enter on race-day morning.

If that's the plan, get there early - the race won't wait and you don't want to miss your start gun. Registration opens at 7am in the Settlers' Hall on Coatesville Reserve at the corner of Mahoenui Valley Road and Coatesville-Riverhead Highway.

Please note that there is no eftpos facility at race day registration. You can pay by cash, cheque or credit card.

PICKING UP YOUR RACE PACK
You can pick up your race pack from 7am on race-day morning. Get there early to be sure you are ready for your race start - coffee will be available from the Coffee Guys for those of you who need a little extra to get them going.

PARKING
Off-road parking will be available to entrants from 6.45am on the reserve behind Coatesville pony club. The entrance is on Glenmore Road and will be signposted from Coatesville-Riverhead Highway.

If you are approaching Coatesville along Coatesville-Riverhead Highway after turning off State Highway 17 (coming from Auckland, Albany, Dairy Flat), you turn left into Glenmore Road, just after Fernilea Cafe. The gate is on the left and will be signposted 'Parking'.

If you are coming from Kumeu along Coatesville-Riverhead Highway, Glenmore Road is on your right just opposite the Coatesville dairy. Turn right into Glenmore and the gate is on your left, signposted 'Parking'.

Please note: runners and walkers will be coming down Glenmore Road towards Coatesville past the gate used for the car park. If you are entering or leaving the car park between 9am and 11.30am please take extreme care and obey the marshal at the gate.

Please also observe the 'No Parking' signs! They are there for everyone's safety, particularly that of the athletes out on the course.
