This web site contains information for the 2013
Skechers Coatesville Classic, which was held on March 17th, 2013.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the 2013 Skechers Coatesville Classic! We had an unbelievable sell out race of almost 1,600 runners, walkers and dashers for the fourth edition of the Classic. That included a huge eight hundred half marathoners - making the Coatesville Classic the second biggest timed half marathon in Auckland. We look forward to welcoming you all back to Coatesville next year. Watch this space for updated information in October 2013 and, in the meantime, mark your diary now for March 16th, 2014!
Make a date for 17 March 2013 and join us in the beautiful rural village of Coatesville - five minutes north of Albany and only 15 minutes drive from the Harbour Bridge - for the Skechers Coatesville Classic, Auckland's most scenic half marathon, with an 8k run and walk and the Kristin 2k Kids' Dash to match!
The Classic is fixed for two weeks after the Grand Finale of our Westfield Albany Lakes Summer Series to give you a fantastic opportunity to round off a summer of fitness fun and commit to an excellent end-of-season goal. The Classic - like the Lakes - attracts fast runners, slow walkers and everyone in between. If you enjoy making the most of the summer in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and love to get away from it all just minutes from home - this is the event for you.
Free event t-shirt for all entrants
We are introducing a free event t-shirt for ALL entrants in 2013. That's a dry-fit tee for everyone, including the kids, and we know you'll love the look. Add to that a free aluminium drink bottle designed to commemorate our Growing Minds sponsorship, and a medal for each finisher and you've got a bumper package to mark your big day out.
Full road closure on our rural route
The Skechers Coatesville Classic gives you a rare opportunity to run on rural roads with a full road closure. That means we can treat you, your friends and family to some spectacular views without through traffic to bother you. Take a breath and drink in the views as you achieve your fitness goal on Auckland's most scenic run course!
Running Events goes 100% non-profit
Your free aluminium drink bottle will showcase our 2013 partnership with the Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi in the island wildlife sanctuary's Growing Minds project. The Running Events team is working for free and the business has committed all profits from our 2013 events towards sending at least 1,000 kids from lower decile schools on a fantastic educational tour of Tiri.
Get Active Smart and save
We have also sealed a new partnership with ACC, who will sponsor each adult entrant to the tune of $5, provided you take advantage of their FREE Active Smart online training site. And why wouldn't you?
Enter a few details such as your current fitness level and intended race distance and this cyber-smartie will design a tailored training program to get you to the start line in Coatesville, not only fit, but healthy and ready to race too!
So join us on 17 March 2013 at the Coatesville Reserve for another big day out enjoying the best of rural running and walking - right on Auckland's doorstep!
