Skechers Coatesville Classic 2014
Make a date for Sunday, 16th March 2014 and join us in the beautiful rural village of Coatesville - five minutes north of Albany and only 15 minutes drive from the Harbour Bridge - for the Skechers Coatesville Classic, Auckland's most scenic half marathon, with an 8k run and walk and the Kristin 2k Kids' Dash to match! Enter early and join over 1,500 other runners, walkers and dashers for this beautiful rural road race.
First held in 2010 - and with a respectful nod to its predecessor, the Coateville Fun Run - the Skechers Coatesville Classic has quickly become a highlight on the Auckland road running calendar. The 234 trailblazers who took part in that first event could scarcely imagine that by 2012, their numbers would have swelled to nearly 1600. The 800 plus in the half marathon made it the second largest half marathon in Auckland, behind only the mighty Auckland Marathon.
The Classic is fixed for two weeks after the Grand Finale of Running Events' Westfield Albany Lakes Summer Series to give you a fantastic opportunity to round off a summer of fitness fun and commit to an excellent end-of-season goal. The Classic - like the Lakes - attracts fast runners, slow walkers and everyone in between. If you enjoy making the most of the summer in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and love to get away from it all just minutes from home - this is the event for you.
Free event t-shirt & bottle
The first 1,000 entrants in the half marathon or 8k and the first 200 kids in the 2k dash will each receive an exclusive event t-shirt. Sizes and numbers are strictly limited so enter early to avoid disappointment. Thanks to our partnership with ACC's ActiveSmart online training system, we also have a great aluminium Running Events/ActiveSmart water bottle for everyone.
Full road closure on our rural route
The Skechers Coatesville Classic gives you a rare opportunity to run on rural roads with a full road closure. That means we can treat you, your friends and family to some spectacular views without through traffic to bother you. Take a breath and drink in the views as you achieve your fitness goal on Auckland's most scenic run course!
So join us on 16th March 2014 at the Coatesville Reserve for another big day out enjoying the best of rural running and walking - right on Auckland's doorstep!
